I can't get financial aid forms to open up on a school website when clicked on, any suggestions? I keep trying to click on the financial aid forms located on a school website. I can't seem to open them. At a previous time, I seem to recall being able to open them. Any suggestions what could be causing this and what I could do?

beut_els_guese replied: "The school could be updating their website. Mine is going through the same issue, however, we have links we can email the student. More than likely your school does too. Call whoever has been assisting you with your FAFSA and other documents and let them know. I'm sure they will be happy to send out an email to assist you."

sCla L replied: "What format are the forms? try updating the program that your trying to open the files with. Next time post the link to the form so we can check it (some times ftp servers are out of order temporarily). Are you the only user of the computer? If you have a computer administrator they could have set the priveledges on the computer to prevent downloading or opening any documents from the internet. I've found some good information here... Good Luck."

Do you have to fill out Financial Aid forms to receive a Athletic Scholarship? Im just wondering if you need to fill out the FAFSA forms to receive a athletic scholorship? I received a scholarship but never filled out the financial aid forms..do i need to do that?

♥♥The Queen Has Spoken♥♥ replied: "Scholarships are independent of the FAFSA. Most of the time Scholarship are funded privately not through the government which is what FAFSA is connected to."

Found-1 replied: "Most schools require it, but not all. It is to your benefit to fill it out anyway though. If you qualify for any grants (free) money, your scholarship will pay (hopefully) all your tuition and your grant will pay for your dorm or if your dorm and meals are covered you get to pocket the cash for books and supplies and transportation. Just do it!"

How can one submit IFSA and FAFSA financial aid forms online ? After sumitting your University applicaation forms via the commonapp website, how can you sumbit your financial aid forms online? AND how can you send your SAT scores to other colleges for free online?

Is getting financial aid forms a good sign that I'll be accepted to a college? I've applied to Villanova University and I got financial aid application forms from them. They don't give decisions til April 1, but I'm wondering if this is a good sign, or if they send this to every applicant regardless of decision stastus.

alyssa00_ca replied: "in my experience they send them to everyone. good luck though!"

Extra financial aid forms for prospective students. What is beyond the FAFSA and College Board Profile? I am so confused when I log into college board, I am told that many institutions have specific forms for the University. For example American University or Smith College. When I log into the University site I can only find directions to the FAFSA, college board, or maybe one form. I call the financial aid office and probably don't ask the right questions. Help, please!!!!

pelmel replied: "I am a little confused by your question. If you are looking for other types of financial aid that you can obtain aside from FAFSA then you more than likely have to visit the college to pick them up, they may have some information on other funding but it really depends on the college. If you are looking for other grants then you may want to google something like "apply for college grants" and see what you are eligible for. I hope you still apply for financial aid using FAFSA, try to due it before the March 2nd priority deadline to make sure you are in the running for all the federal grants. Feel free to email me if you still have a question, good luck!"

What happens if you turn in your financial aid forms late? After I applied early decision to a college on the deadline, they sent me some financial forms that were also due on the deadline and I'm just sending them out a month after they were supposed to be due. What are the consequences of this?

beautiful replied: "Well, it might of slimed your chance of you receiving as much help as you needed..But I think its still good that you turned it in.. But, always try and get your forms in.. I think you still will receive some help with funding your education though.... Good Luck"

Isabel B replied: "the only bad thing that happens is this: by doing it before the deadline gives you a better shot of getting your financial aid. you still have a chance to get the financial aid. your priority is, however, push back by those who applied within the deadline. so priority goes like this: those applied within the dead line, those who applied the deadline before you, then you, then whoever applied after you. if you qualified for it then i'm pretty sure you will get some amount of it. it may not be a lot because of priority, but some amount. A site I've used... Hope that helps."

Should i wait until I get accepted into college to fill out the financial Aid forms? I plan on applying to four universities, two which are out of state. When should fill out the fin aid forms?

Evo_Morales replied: "Now."

LadyChristmas replied: "You'll need to advise the financial aid people of what school you'll be going to - you'll have to wait to fill out the forms until you've registered."

cooljayman1 replied: "along with your applications in order to ensure that they arrive at the earliest time possible. Or else other people might get the aid instead of you."

HarleyHoney replied: "Get Grants........."

FaZizzle replied: "Start now--you'll be finished by the time the answer returns. You may need your tax statement though. Starting early is fine, but you can only do FAFSA for 2007 next year (I think)."

goldfish65398 replied: "No, no, NO NO NOOOOO!!! Do it as soon as you get the tax info which should be in Jan. or Feb."

tabkat73 replied: "fill them out before you get accepted. goto the FAFSA website and find out the application deadlines. they can send all your info to the college you decide on. You don't want to miss deadlines or you could lose grant money. Best of luck"

HARGINDER P replied: "you should start filling out financial aid forms in junior year of high school. asap!"

Bridget replied: "No. It is best if you get it out of the way. Just have your application sent to the schools in which you are applying."

sglmom replied: "The Financial Aid forms (FAFSA) should be filled out in the Fall of your senior year of HS -- and make sure you do this as soon as possible."

evokethesoul replied: "This is a great question. Let's seperate this into two areas: admission applications and financial aid. First, financial aid - If you are planning to start college after July 1, 2007 then you will have to wait to complete Federal Financial Aid (apply on March 1, 2007 or after) which can be located at fafsa.ed.gov and will require your parents' taxes as well as yours and additional family data. I recommend completing the forms online it will save you time and over the long run it is best since you are looking at out of state colleges. But don't wait to apply to the college and begin their "institutional" financial aid as well as scholarships. Colleges are ready for you to apply and there are advantages to applying to a college early (housing considerations, add'l state/college funding may be available and in cases of some scholarships they tend to pick students that are committed to a college). There is much in your favor the sooner you start in the process. Best of luck!"

How do I find/complete school financial aid forms? Not the FAFSA, the ones for aid from each individual school, and I'm confused about where I find what to fill out, so please help me out, thanks.

bydway1 replied: "Financial aid office?"

Ducky replied: "You have to either go to the schools Business Office or call them and have them send you forms in the mail."

Martin Chemnitz replied: "Your best bet is to stop by the Financial Aid Department at your school. They should have all the forms for Federal and other forms of aid. Plus they can answer your questions and guide you through the process."

When is the last day to fill complete financial aid forms for the summer of this year? Is it too late? Also, do I fill out the 2007-08 form or the 2008-09 form?

Livi replied: "fill out 2008-09 form; I don't know if it is too late, but it doesn't hurt to try."

do college admissions staff look at any of the financial aid forms? for instance, will they look at the CSS Profile if i sent it to them? or they go to two completly unrelated offices?

Pat replied: "If the school has a "need blind" admissions policy, then they will not look at them."
